Anniversary Cake

We finally ate our wedding cake!! You are probably wondering why we had not already eaten it. Well... there were a couple of factors. First of all, we were in Florida on our anniversary and for some reason we thought that we might not be able to get through security at the airport with it. Second and most importantly, Andy believed that "old frozen wedding cake gives you worms." So after weeks of convincing him that we wouldn't get worms, we got to eat our cake.  Surprisingly, It wasn't bad (I have to admit I was worried it would taste awful).

WOW!! Andrew got to take me up in the helicopter for the first time on Friday. It was totally AMAZING!! I can't hardly put into words the feeling you have when your husband is flying you around!! He is such a great pilot, the ride was totally smooth. I thought that I would be nervous because there aren't doors, I get motion sick, and that he would be nervous because I was with him. He was so confident and flew so well. I knew flying was hard but until you see it, you just have no idea. His hands and feet were in use the whole time. We flew from Brazos (his school in Bruceville) to Gaitsville (another really small town). Even though the scenery in central Texas isn't much to talk about, It was still really fun to see it from the sky. While we were flying, we saw birds flying right next to us, a hog and her babies, and an old bomb testing and storing site. It was an experience that I will never forget. I can't believe he gets to do that every day! I have to say that I am very proud of my pilot!!

St. Augustine

We just got  back from a wonderful vacation to St. Augustine, Florida with Bob and Marsha (Andy's parents). We got to stay at the beach house where Marsha grew up, which was really fun. We had a great time to relax, refresh and rekindle (there was a wall hanging in the house with these words, so it was our inspiration :) ). Our days were filled with the boys reading and Marsha and I laying out and walking. Of course, we did a little shopping and a lot of eating out. We got to visit some of our favorite places there including the Bunnery, Osteens, and Caps. There were many things to celebrate while we were there, Bob and Marsha's 36th anniversary, Marsha's birthday, and our 1st anniversary!!! Such a special week for the Fords. We also got to spend some time with Bob's sweet sister Jan, her husband Vick, and 2 of their 3 boys Alan and Jack. It was really great to get to know them better and hearing all of Jan and Vick's stories. Out favorite memory with them though was having an extremely spicy shrimp boil. We accidently got twice the seasoning. Everyone was laughing and crying while their mouths were on fire. Family time is so precious and we feel blessed to have such an amazing Christian family!
